There are several commonly used, but deprecated, Linux networking commands, including: arp, ifconfig, iptunnel, iwconfig, nameif, netstat, and route. Here, we deal with what to do if you run across the error specific to ifconfig:/usr/sbin/ifconfig: No such file or directory.
ip a
or
ip addr
Both display details on all network interfaces, just as ifconfig would.
Option #2: Install net-tools
As a matter of best practice we’ll update our packages:
yum -y update
Then let’s install ifconfig, which is apart of the package net-tools, and any other required packages:
yum -y install net-tools
